This canal is just waiting for movie moments. It had a little glory in the film Amelie, as the spot where she liked to skip stones. But, I feel that it could be used more.

Romantic first kisses atop one of the many walking bridges; lovers strolling hand in hand along the banks, there could even be chase scenes with boats. You can come here with your loved ones and make your own movie moments, but you can’t go in the water.

You might get arrested for that, then it would turn into a legal drama, which are usually pretty boring. The Canal runs about three miles and is just one block east of Place de la République.
